What information do we collect?
BevyFind neither asks for nor collects any personally
identifiable information. See, however, the 'do we use cookies and/or web beacons?'
section below for information about our and third-party cookies and web beacons
which may be served through BevyFind.
When you access BevyFind, your Web browser does automatically sends non-personally
identifiable information to us, such as your type of browser and IP address. Our
web logs collect this standard information. While our web logs may be stored indefinitely,
we recognize that IP addresses can be used, in some cases, to link searches to particular
people. As such, we will remove IP addresses from our logs periodically.
If you send us a personal communication, e.g. by using our contact page, a support
email or public feedback, we may hold on to that communication so we can respond
appropriately.
Do we use cookies?
(Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers
hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service
providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information)
BevyFind uses cookies to save your settings for the Combo Tab feature. At this time,
BevyFind does not use any additional cookies of its own, though we reserve the right
to do so in the future.
BevyFind uses third party advertisements on some pages to support our site. Some
of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they
advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through
the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP , the
browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.
This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads
to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites
visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).
DoubleClick DART cookies:
DART cookies may be used for ad serving through Google’s DoubleClick, which places
a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the web and visit a site using DoubleClick
advertising (including some Google AdSense advertisements). This cookie is used
to serve ads specific to you and your interests (”interest based targeting”). The
ads served will be targeted based on your previous browsing history (For example,
if you have been viewing sites about visiting Las Vegas, you may see Las Vegas hotel
advertisements when viewing a non-related site, such as on a site about hockey).
DART uses “non personally identifiable information”. It does NOT track personal
information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, telephone
number, social security numbers, bank account numbers or credit card numbers. You
can opt-out of this ad serving on all sites using this advertising by visiting http://www.doubleclick.com/privacy/dart_adserving.aspx.
Users may also opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google
ad and content network privacy policy. You can also chose to disable or
selectively turn off cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences
in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are
able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the
inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally
identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist
us in operating our website or conducting our business, so long as those parties
agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information
when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site
policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally
identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing,
advertising, or other uses.
Third party links
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or
services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy
policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities
of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site
and welcome any feedback about these sites.
